keratinocytes (squamous-cells)

The primary cells of the epidermis (skin) that produce the protein keratin. Keratinocytes from in the basal layer of the epidermis (skin) and receive melanin from in the from of melanocytes migrating upwards to the surface in the form of Keratin.
